Why this course is different

Applied artifacts, not memorized definitions

Every module is taught through Vantage Retail Group, a fictional multi-region retailer. Instead of reading what a business glossary is, you build one. Instead of reading about MDM styles, you recommend one — with reasons. Every module also pairs a DMBOK2 concept with a hands-on AI exercise: draft with AI, then correct it against DMBOK2 principles, so you finish comfortable using AI responsibly in real data work.

What you'll learn

  • Explain and apply all 14 DAMA-DMBOK2 knowledge areas tested on the CDMP Fundamentals exam, weighted exactly as the real exam weights them.
  • Design real data-management artifacts — governance operating models, ER diagrams, star schemas, MDM architectures, data quality scorecards, business glossaries.
  • Use AI tools productively in data management work, and know where AI output needs human governance and correction.
  • Sit a full-length, correctly weighted 100-question practice exam under real exam conditions before exam day.
  • Walk away with a portfolio of fourteen applied assignments to show employers, independent of the certification itself.

Who it's for & requirements

  • Data analysts, data engineers, BI developers and data governance professionals preparing to sit CDMP Fundamentals.
  • IT and business professionals moving into a formal data management or governance role.
  • No prior CDMP or DMBOK2 experience required — every knowledge area is taught from first principles.
  • A copy of DAMA-DMBOK2 (Revised Edition) is recommended before Module 0, since it's the only resource permitted in the real exam.
Exam alignment

Built directly from the official domain weightings

Weights sum to 100%. Study time in the course tracks time value on the real CDMP Fundamentals exam — the four 11% domains get the longest runtimes; the three 2% domains are taught efficiently rather than padded.
